Founded in 1928, the charity is well known for its outings to the seaside when convoys of London taxis decked in balloons and banners take excited ‘special needs’ children and their helpers for a fun day out.
Although The London Taxi Drivers’ Fund for Underprivileged Children are renowned for their outings, there is a lot more that the charity undertakes during the year.
On Sunday 19th January 2014 the London Taxidrivers’ Fund for Underprivileged Children held their 42nd annual Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in the Great Room of the Grosvenor House (a JW Marriott Hotel) and gave 650 ‘special needs’ and underprivileged children a party they will always remember. Each year the parties seem to go from strength to strength and this year was no exception, with one wheelchair child leaving the toy grotto cuddling a huge bag of toys saying “this has been the best day of my life” – just magic, what more could we ask for ?
Lil’Tim and Will Baki of Wills Way Entertainment performed a Street Dance routine with child Street Dancer Louis.
